The genus Cycas in Australia

While the common name for this group of fascinating plants, Cycad, includes similar plants also found in Australia, such as Lepidozamia and Macrozamia. The 27 known Cycas species native to northern Australia are described on this website.

Many of the Australian species listed on the website were only discovered in the last two decades, and it is conceivable that there are still more undescribed species in the remote landscapes which are their natural habitat.
